if ya'll haven't noticed by now, im taking short spurts of breaks on the blog. not because i have nothing to say, but because im on vacation, and you should be too.

its a bit frustrating actually because at home in the states, i have problems connecting to my phone carrier and occasionally my internet will suddenly disappear because i live in a forest. [not quite, but our neighborhood is surrounded by trees...good for privacy but sucks for connection.] so oddly enough, when im here on vacation at home in asia, i am once again surrounded by a mass of trees. its a good thing to an extent. i get to breath fresher air and my neighbors wont be able to see my through their high rise.

[but dude, life without some internet can be such a hassle. thank god my phone works here.]

i forgot how hot most parts of asia can be. i think its even worse when you open the windows for "fresh air" because all you'll get is bursts of hot air. flip flops, tank tops, and shorts dont quite cut it here especially with all that walking.

i hope you guys are all having fun wherever you are! and i'll be sure to update when i see some weird stuff here. so far its been okay. hehe

i am chinese, but a hyphenated one at that. i relate to both my american culture and my chinese culture...i would like to say, evenly. but just recently, a friend shed some light on my fencing. she said: "chinese culture is your interest, but you live a white american" -- so true.
so what is american culture?? sports, beer, and hooters. cept i dont work at hooters, and beer is not my particular favorite alcoholic beverage, although i will tolerate it

here are my sports line up:

NFL - New England Patriots : number 84 Tyson DeVree [i have a thing for tight ends because i think Jason Witten from Dallas Cowboys is hot too]

MBL - Boston Red Sox : Pitcher Jon Lester

NHL - NY Rangers : Defenseman Bobby Sanguinetti

sorry. i dont like basketball

I AM FINALLY FINISHED WITH FINALS. say that three times fast.

one of the perks of being an english major, is that you finish early [but i say with more work] and you get to sit around and watch your buddies suffer actual studying of math and science. then its like, SUCKERS.

however, do not think for one minute that we did not do our fair share of work. we have probably written more papers on more books than you have ever written for the entire year.

but yes, those of you who still do have finals...good luck, and sucks to be you.

i was watching this chinese tv show, and one of the games is similar to charades, but since it is a chinese show, they have to say the clues in english without saying the word(s) in the answer.

so, jordan chan [who's english is horrible] was up, and the answer was ETHIOPIA.
and he says:

"some country --
very hungry --
--black guy!"

so funny

this was just one that he did that i thought was very funny, but all of his were funny [the black guy one is the third clue in the clip if you're looking]

i was talking to my younger cousin, and we were talking about him and his mother and how she constantly nags him like a faithful chinese mother to get a better A.

cousin: "she's a woman ... naggers"

...i dont know how i should respond to that

i have to do a plug here, because i really do love this new bus.

i was in NY for the weekend with my mom at our LI house, and now, im taking the bus back to jersey. and usually, i take the chinatown buses, the ones that are dirty and the seats are all ripped up and the entire bus smells like pee.

but this time, im taking a bus called BOLT BUS. started by greyhound. and it's not expensive at all. a trip for me from philly to NY is only $12 and it takes you to chinatown in philly.

so why am i raving about this bus? listen now:

1. this bus has it's own electrical plugs, meaning you can plug in your phone and charge it, or even your laptop.
2. it has it's own wifi. so, while im sitting here on the bus for a two hour ride to philly, im doing my blog too.
3. its clean. it doesn't smell like pee, the driver is very courteous, and the seats are not ripped
4. its organized. typically on the chinatown buses, run by china people... go figure. they are not organized whatsoever, so people will push around and throw your luggage around if you're not bigger or scarier looking. the bolt buses, you are not allowed to buy the ticket on the bus, so you have to have purchased your ticket ahead of time online. and its by section so in essence, you're guaranteed a seat for the time slot you've bought the trip for.

again, this is called BOLT BUS. it's bright orange. i love it.
