public bathrooms

Sep 30, 2008 1
there are several major reasons why i don't like sharing a place with a whole bunch of girls [or guys for that matter]. but one of the main ones that bug the crap out of me is the bathroom:

  1. toilet paper has always been an issue. not only that sometimes that there is none, but it never gets put back in the rollie thing. its like, how hard is it to insert the stick into the roll and put it back instead of leaving the toilet paper on top of the old one?
  2. humidity. our [pleasant] bathroom at school does not have ventilation. so after someone takes a shower and leaves the door shut, the bathroom ends up getting all muggy and moldy. if the door likes to close behind you, then stay there and make sure it stays open. i dont feel like inhaling invisible mold.
  3. because there is no ventilation, you have got to spray it after you do your business. like i said before in a previous post, your poop does not smell nice, despite what your mother says.
  4. i find that the toilet seat is a sacred place. its where some people do their best reading and thinking. and i get that some people like to sit there for hours on end, i get that. i really do. but why is the toilet seat sticky?? you do not eat with your butt, so there is no excuse for why your butt is sticky...unless you sweat in your butt...which is weird...
  5. close the door when you go to the bathroom and lock it. and if someone knocks, then answer, otherwise its a go for the knocker to just barge in. then you can't give us dirty looks

multitasking

Sep 22, 2008 0
multitasking (noun) - the simultaneous execution of more than one program or task by a single ... - compliments of my apple dictionary
[ after the ...'s, it actually says by a computer processor, but everyone knows that this word does not only apply to computers.]

so, here it is, the definition of multitasking. in simple terms, multitasking is:

  1. being able to play video games while pooping
  2. brushing your teeth while driving
  3. cooking and feeding your baby
  4. walking your mastiff while sending company emails
  5. trying on jeans and writing an essay [extra points if you can churn out 6+ pages]
but, the company steelcase has taken away our [my] definition of multitasking. thanks to overweight-america, this company has come up with this badass machine that lets you work out while you work.

how the hell does that work?
[you ask]

simple. they made a walk-desk. its a treadmill attached to a desk. no joke...even though that does sound pretty funny.

i mean, can you imagine how easy for a co-worker who hates you try to get even?? just turn your treadmill up higher and bam! you'll fall flat on your face with your papers flying all over the place. but of course the folks at steelcase have considered that and made it so that the treadmill can only be as fast as an average walk in the park.
but how fat has america gotten for inventors to come up with something like that?
thats a little sad

so, retarded as i am, i think the poll doesn't work.

but the answer is no. they don't sound the same. (native speakers will not hear the difference, but if you do the puff of air on your hand, you will be able to tell the difference. not lying.)

------------------------------------------------

but yay! its my 100th post since i started a while back. gosh. 100 posts of pure nothing. lol. so, to celebrate, i'm going to share a new song that im in love with. now, i dont really like taylor swift as a country singer [because personally, i dont think she's that country]. but this song just came out and it sort of mirrors my [life story] right now.

"quaternary education"

Sep 9, 2008 0
doesn't that sound scary?? i thought it did. its just another fancy name for graduate school--which is also scary in it's own right. yup. i've been looking at graduate schools lately since it is my junior year already. i probably wouldn't want to be filling out applications during senior year when i've got to write my senior paper, which i hear by the way, is supposed to be 200 some odd pages long... [oh golly]

so i stayed up late last night looking at some universities with the graduate program im aiming for, and i couldn't help but laugh, thinking that i was going to college again. the application process, the waiting, the humiliation and the hurt of rejection... all comes full circle again. its like, geez, where in the world did my last two years go? what the hell did i learn?? um -- lets not answer that.

but god, its true when they say you never stop learning...either you're still stuck in school getting like, your fourth master degree because you still can't get a job anywhere but mcdonalds, or you're business company is sending you to "get with the program"

regardless, here is my list:

1. UNC at Chapel Hill
2. Northeastern State University
3. LSU
4. University of Tennessee
5. University of Maryland
6. Penn State

yes, i like the south. get over it.

[considering...but completely far fetched - except maybe UBC]
1. University of Canterbury
2. Deakin University
3. The University of Hong Kong
4. UBC
5. City University of Hong Kong

"failing is what makes you succeed"

Sep 4, 2008 0
so does that mean that i can fail all my classes at college and succeed in LIFE ?! O_O

that'd be awesome, but lets be realistic
you can't be that dumb...right?

classes have started, and yeah, they're a pain in the ass because i've already got my first 10-page paper due on tuesday. im also taking art history, and i can't really say i like it. but my french class is pas mal, actually. monsieur ellman only speaks french and no english except when he pronounces our names, which is perfectly fine for me -- thank you high school french.

but besides classes, i love being back at school because it means independence. no more are those summer days when i had to tell everyone where i was going and what time i'd be back. at college, i will forget to eat dinner and be a-okay. i can also not wash my clothes for a week and not have someone breathing down my back. i dont have to fix my bed, and i dont have to clean up my clothes off the floor.
however

i've noticed some things have changed about me since retuning this year as a junior:
  • i used to never care if my bed was made or not. who freakin' cares if you're just going to sleep in it anyway and mess it up again later on?? -- but now, i have to make it before i leave the room. i can't tell you why i feel like i have to now, but i just feel like it just makes ME feel better to have it made
  • and no longer can i leave clothes strewn on the floor or hanging out of my drawers because -- UGH. it would drive me insane now. maybe i can hold out for a couple of days before i go crazy and do a complete cleaning of the entire room [my side of the room]
  • i can still wait a week to wash my clothes. i dont think that's a big deal. maybe in part because i've got so much clothes stuffed in my one dresser.
  • i still forget to eat dinner, and i still am okay with it. i think with college, you just tend to have so much fun going from floor to floor visiting each friend that you just forget by the time you go to bed. and when you wake up, it's already 12, and it's time for lunch!
all the stuff that needed to be at school with me
but it doesn't look like much, does it? -- and i know, i will decorate later. shush
