where have all the ... semester days ... gone??

Mar 25, 2008
do you realize that we only have 36 days of school left?
well, let me rephrase that, I ONLY HAVE 36 DAYS OF SCHOOL LEFT! [im not counting weekends --> so please, don't say no, you have yada yada yada days left. - no, screw you]

i have NO IDEA whatsoever where my sophomore year went... i mean, i know i went to classes and i know i took exams, but. what?

--------------------------------------------

lets talk about spring break. i did absolutely nothing and it was the worst time i've had. EXCEPT for the fact that i watched The Seventh Day, finished it, and loved it. i hope ya'll had fun and went on cruises or road trips or whatever.

i really did like the way Bosco and Natalie communicated with each other on screen, i thought they balanced each other real well. but i do have something to say about their story line, no matter how much i love that natalie had perhaps just won "the favorite breakthrough actress" for me.

did their story remind you of each other??

it certainly did for me. How to Lose A Guy In 10 Days has been a FAVORITE film of mine when it came out all the way till now. i love the idea of the story and i love the chemistry that Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson had. so when i watched The Seventh Day, and saw the similarity with HTLAGI10D [isn't that a funny abbreviation?!] i wasn't all that disappointed. i mean, i was bummed that TVB couldn't think of their own story plots, but i loved loved loved how well Bosco Wong and Natalie Tong were both with each other.

similar story plots

  1. Natalie Tong plays a sassy comic writer/drawer. She has problems with coming up with topics and uses her friends' stories to help give her inspirations. She has a posse that help her and encourage her on when the feelings start to arouse her senses for romance.
  2. Bosco Wong is a handsome guy with a posse that is less witty than he. He has a motive for dating Natalie and stays on with her even though some of the things she does is way beyond normal girlfriend behavior.
  3. Both end up falling for each other and they find out their ulterior motives for each other in the end...with a happy ending. [go figure]
  • Kate Hudson is a magazine columnist for the highest selling woman's magazine in NYC. she has dreams to write about politics but her boss only allows her to write about shoes, bags and whatnot. she uses her friend michelle's breakup story as a base for her new column on how to lose a guy in 10 days. ["5 is too short, and we go to press in 11"] she vows to use only the mistakes that girls often use by accident to drive away an unsuspecting guy.
  • she has all these horrible things done to Matthew's character, but he doesn't budge, because he has a bet with his boss that he could make a girl fall in love with him in 10 days.
so you can see the similarities even just by skimming the surface. some of the things that they do to each other are very similar too [like, taking each other to a concert instead of a game, or interrupting his boys night. etc.]
so over all, snaps to Natalie for portraying this crazy one woman circus role. loved her. maybe after this, TVB will give her more main actress roles instead of being the cameo all the time.
