the most common flowers people tend to go for are: carnations, daffodils, iris', lily's, orchids, roses, sunflowers, and tulips
carnations - given when we were little kids in elementary school and we had no real money to buy our moms a mother's day gift. these carnations probably sold so well because they came in all possible colors, including BLUE! a real frenzy with little 5 and 6 year olds.
daffodils - probably the cutest looking flower that everyone has at least heard of. it looks like a bell, which is pretty cool...but not as cool as the other ones, once you've gotten to see them...
iris - not only does this double as a human name, these flowers are pretty and purple. no, they are not lavenders.
lily - is another one that doubles as a human name. they look kind of mixed. they have a little bit of white and purple in them...with a huge antenna sticking out of it's center...a little alien to me.
orchids - one of the hardest flowers to grow, to my understanding. i think most people like to receive these flowers for bragging rights when it does grow, and perhaps as a symbol of the relationship. (ie. it's hard to piece together, but once it buds, its a beautiful and simple thing.)
roses - THE single most common flower. it's edible too. they come in a couple of colors, but of course, red is the most famous one for being a sign of passion and love.
sunflowers - these flowers are seriously the size of a kid's face. they're funny to look at. and plus, you can eat sunflower seeds...
tulips - ...just graceful looking. no one really buys them for anyone alone, but maybe in a whole bundle.
my favorite flower? it has got to be the the bird of paradise
